HHS netters face Eastern A foes

The Havre High tennis teams have reached an exciting part of their season. Head Coach Jeff Miller's teams have just three weeks before the divisional tournament and that journey started last weekend in Glendive.

The Ponies traveled east to face Hardin, Glendive, Miles City, Lewistown and Billings Central in duals over two days, and, the Ponies played really good tennis, no matter the scores.

On Friday, the HHS girls lost to Hardin 6-0 and Miles City 6-0, and fell to Lewistown 4-2.

On Friday, the Havre boys lost to Hardin 6-1, beat Lewistown 5-1 and fell to Miles City 5-2. Against Hardin Mason Kinsella and Carter Chagnon won at No. 3 doubles and they also won against Miles City. Carter Spangler and Max Spangler beat Miles City as well at No. 1 doubles.

On Saturday, the Pony girls tied Glendive 3-3. Chloe Bricker won at No. 1 singles, Heather Herring won at No. 2 singles and Lindsey Leinwand and Tyley Hemmer won at No. 4 doubles. The Ponies also fell to Hardin again 6-0 and then fell to Billings Central 5-1. Herring won at No. 2 singles.

On Saturday, the Pony boys tied Glendive 3-3 sweeping doubles, including a win from Reid Kato and Callen Stoner at No. 2 doubles. Against Hardin the Ponies fell 4-2, including a another win from Kato and Stoner, as well as a win from Kinsella and Chagnon. Against Billings Central, the Ponies went 2-4 with a huge win from the Spangler brothers and yet another win from Chagnon and Kinsella, who went an outstanding 8-0 on the weekend. 

Havre is right back on the road this weekend as the Ponies travel to Billings for the Mayfair Invitational.
