The list of candidates for presidents jobs at Mayville State University and the North Dakota State College of Science has narrowed. The state Board of Higher Education now has two finalists for the Mayville State University president job and three at the North Dakota State College of Science. Two candidates for the Mayville State job withdrew after being named finalists. They are Cheri Jimeno, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at Montana State University-Northern in Havre, and Gregory Aloia, dean of the College of Education at Florida Atlantic University. The remaining finalists are Gary Hagen, interim Mayville State president, and Paul Theobald, an endowed professor at Buffalo (N.Y.) State College. One of four School of Science finalists, David Devier, dean and chief executive officer of the University of Cincinnati Clermont College in Batavia, Ohio, withdrew after visiting the campus. The remaining candidates for the Science job are Mike Dreith, president of Frontier Community College in Fairfield, Ill.; Jerry Migler, provost of Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Moorhead; and John Richman, the interim Science president. The Board of Higher Education has approved a salary of $138,000 for the Mayville State position and $134,000 for the Science presidency. The board plans to interview the Science finalists Tuesday and name a president, and do the same with Mayville State candidates Wednesday.
