No one knows what effect increased energy development eventually will bring to Havre and the surrounding region. Spending the weekend at home, the United played two tough opponents. And hosting Miles City and the Sidney Posse at the Havre High soccer fields on Saturday, the United was able to earn the 1-1 split. United defeated Miles City 4-2, but fell to the much tougher, Posse select team 2-1. The United now sit at 6-4-0 overall and 6-2-0 in the conference, as well as sit as the No. 2 team with 18 points behind Laurel with 21.

Friday and Sturday, HHS competed at the LaVerne Combo Invitational in Butte. On Friday the Ponies dropped their first game to Corvallis 8-6, but rebounded to defeat Anaconda 5-4. And on Saturday, the Ponies went 2-0, earning impressive wins over Whitefish and Hamilton. HHS defeated Whitefish 11-5 and Hamilton 8-7. With the three wins and one loss, the Ponies overall record improved to 7-9 overall, while their conference schedule remains at 3-5.

Danreuther, who’s already qualified for the NCAA Western Regional, won both the 200 and 400-meter sprints on the women’s side for the University of Montana Saturday afternoon. In the 400, Danreuther’s best event, she set a new Big Sky Conference meet record with her winning time of 53,21. The previous record, held by a former Northern Arizona standout, had stood since 1998.

Wednesday afternoon in Havre, the Chinook Sugarbeeters, Big Sandy Pioneers, North Star Knights, Turner Tornadoes, Box Elder Bears and Hays-Lodge Pole Thunderbirds competed in the 9C track and field meet at the Havre Middle School track. The Beeters dominated the competioin with 194 points, while the Pioneers finished in second with 117, the Knights finished in third with 112, the Tornadoes finished in fourth with 34, the Bears finished in fifth with 24 and the Thunderbirds finished sixth with 12.

The Central A Blue Ponies hosted a triangular meet with Lewistown and Malta at the Havre Middle School track on Saturday. And competing on their home turf, the HHS boys did especially well, finishing in first place with a team score of 89. The Lewistown Golden Eagles were second with 84, while the Malta Mustangs were third with 36. The Havre High girls also performed well, finishing in second place with 62 points. Spending the weekend at home, the United played two tough opponents. And hosting Miles City and the Sidney Posse at the Havre High soccer fields on Saturday, the United was able to earn the 1-1 split. United defeated Miles City 4-2, but fell to the much tougher, Posse select team 2-1. The United now sit at 6-4-0 overall and 6-2-0 in the conference, as well as sit as the No. 2 team with 18 points behind Laurel with 21.

Friday and Sturday, HHS competed at the LaVerne Combo Invitational in Butte. On Friday the Ponies dropped their first game to Corvallis 8-6, but rebounded to defeat Anaconda 5-4. And on Saturday, the Ponies went 2-0, earning impressive wins over Whitefish and Hamilton. HHS defeated Whitefish 11-5 and Hamilton 8-7. With the three wins and one loss, the Ponies overall record improved to 7-9 overall, while their conference schedule remains at 3-5.

Wednesday afternoon in Havre, the Chinook Sugarbeeters, Big Sandy Pioneers, North Star Knights, Turner Tornadoes, Box Elder Bears and Hays-Lodge Pole Thunderbirds competed in the 9C track and field meet at the Havre Middle School track. The Beeters dominated the competioin with 194 points, while the Pioneers finished in second with 117, the Knights finished in third with 112, the Tornadoes finished in fourth with 34, the Bears finished in fifth with 24 and the Thunderbirds finished sixth with 12.

The Central A Blue Ponies hosted a triangular meet with Lewistown and Malta at the Havre Middle School track on Saturday. And competing on their home turf, the HHS boys did especially well, finishing in first place with a team score of 89. The Lewistown Golden Eagles were second with 84, while the Malta Mustangs were third with 36. The Havre High girls also performed well, finishing in second place with 62 points. The Ponies finished behind the Eagles with 87 and ahead of the M-Ettes with 32 team points.
