The Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Line is selling limited edition ornaments in honor of the club's 10th anniversary.
The ornaments, which cost $25, will raise funds for special projects planned for next year at the club.
A total of 200 ornaments will be sold, said Rachel Dean, the club's endowment director.
The club has been celebrating its 10th anniversary all year. Although the anniversary itself was July 1, Dean said the club wanted a special way to conclude the celebration.
The concept for the pewter ornaments came from the club's Marketing Committee, she said.
The central part of the ornament is the club's helping hand logo, she said. Marketing Committee member Bobbie Morse added several elements to the ornament, which was then taken to Ben Cordsen of Cordsen Design in Fort Collins, Colo.
Cordsen was recommended by the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce and the Historic Preservation Commission because he designed the history-oriented ornaments the commission sells during the Christmas season.
The club's ornaments will be sold at the Boys & Girls Club, she said.
They will also be sold at the Festival of Trees open house Thursday, Nov. 29, at the east end of the Holiday Village Mall. The trees prepared for the annual Festival of Trees will be on display at that time.
And ornaments will be sold at the Festival of Trees Friday evening, Nov. 30.
That night, the names of those who bought ornaments will be put in a box. One name will be drawn, and that person will win a quilt designed by Karen Vosen.
“It really is a gorgeous quilt, ” Dean said.
It was on display at the annual Quilt Guild quilt show during Festival Days weekend.
The money collected will be used to fund special, “real exciting projects” that will be announced at the Festival of Trees, she said.
