ARNOLD BRAATEN, Obituary

EVERETT, Wash. Arnold "Arnie" Braaten, 74, died Sunday, June 2, 2002, at his home in Everett, Wash.

Viewing was to begin at 10 a.m. today at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home in Kalispell. Funeral services were set for 2 p.m. at the Salvation Army Community Center in Kalispell. Burial is to follow at Glacier Memorial Gardens.

Arnie was born Dec. 6, 1927, in Wolf Point.

He married Norma on June 10, 1948, in Kalispell.

Arnie was a salesman for Carolina Shoe Co. in North Carolina, Oliver Hammer Clothing in Sedro Woolley, Wash., and Sam's Western Wear in Everett. He retired in August 2001. He also owned and operated Arnie's Shoes in Havre from 1961 through 1971.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Braaten of Everett; sons, Gordon (Jan) Braaten of Everett and Gary Braaten of Missoula; daughter, Helen Braaten of Arlington, Wash.; sisters, Olga Rhodes of Kalispell, Gladys Baker of Glendive, Helen Bates of Sommers, Alice (John) Christensen of Kalispell, Mary (Joe) Schrock of Seattle; brothers, Merle "Bud" Braaten of Wolf Point and Henry (Margaret) Braaten of Kalispell; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
