The Havre Heritage Center continues its Celebrity Luncheon season with a full slate of activities in October.
The events start with a dual arrival on Wednesday.
Great Falls author Pete Fromm, originally from Milwaukee, is the guest of a celebrity luncheon at noon in the Heritage Center. Fromm, a graduate of the University of Montana in Missoula, received critical acclaim for his first novel, "How All This Started," published in 2000. He is a three-time winner of the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Literary Award. He won one award for an autobiographical work, one for a collection of short stories and the third for his 2000 novel.
Tickets cost $15. People are asked to call 265-7258 to make reservations. The show is sponsored by the Sparkle Plenty reading group and the Heritage Center.
Singer and songwriter David Walburn of Whitefish also will perform Wednesday, at 7:30 p.m. in the Student Union Building Ballroom at Montana State University-Northern.
Walburn's show, sponsored by C.A.T. Transport of Havre and the Heritage Center, is a combination of original acoustic music, scenic imagery shown by digital projectors and narratives. He will perform "Montana Life Under the Big Sky" at the concert. It is his third multi-media show and CD. The CD was produced in 2000.
The show costs $7.50 for adults, $5 for 18 and under, and is free for children 5 and under and for Northern students with a validated ID. Tickets are available at the Heritage Center office and at local businesses.
The third event, sponsored by Albertsons and the Heritage Center, brings Bozeman's Vigilante Players back to Havre.
The troupe will perform "Clark & Lewis," a comedy by Thomas Q. Morris of Great Falls, at 7:30 p.m. in the Havre High School auditorium on Oct. 26. It chronicles the attempts of a self-proclaimed expert on the journeys of Meriwether Lewis and William Clark's Corps of Discovery to produce a re-enactment of the journey.
The show costs $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors. Tickets are available at the Heritage Center and other locations.
