For the first time in several years, boxing will make its return to Havre tonight as Bob LeCoure's Club Boxing will hit the Havre Ice Dome for a night of rigid right-hands, ring girls and rowdiness.

Club Boxing has come to prominence around Montana in the past few years as LeCoure's crew have had regular weekly stops in Missoula, Butte, Bozeman and Billings.

The fighters are all amateurs with several local boxers on the card. There will be ring girls, a full bar and basically plenty of fun for the adult boxing fan.

"It should be the happening place," said Bobby LeCoure. "For people looking for a good time with lots of action, this is it."

There will be eight fights tonight, including a women's fight, according to the card announced by Club Boxing.

LeCoure said close to 40 perspective fighters showed up for last night's weigh-ins. Those 40 were narrowed down to the 16 fighters who will lace up the gloves tonight.

The featured fight of the night will be in the heavyweight division, where former Box Elder High School basketball standout and former amateur fighter Emory "the Gentleman" LaMere will be taking on Rick "Lights Out" Valdez, who also has amateur boxing experience.

"I used to box against Emory during amateurs when we were younger," LeCoure said. "He's a good fighter. Rick also has plenty of amateur experience. It should be a good fight."

There will also be two other heavyweight fights as Justin "Mo" Johnson will square off against Patrick "No Love" Biglake and Iron Irv Turner will face Russell "the Bomb" Zumbrum.

In other matches, Randy "Redwood" Christofferson will take on Jabbin' Joe Corcoran at 185 pounds. At 170 pounds Russell "the Hammer" Houle will tangle with Ragin' Randy Belcourt.

At 150 pounds, Larry "the Intimidator" Morsette will hook up with Edward "Fast Eddy" Isaacson. At 160 pounds, former Havre High wrestler Chad "the Wrench" Rowan will take on Eric "Outlaw" Jones.

In the women's heavyweight match, Crystal "Dangerous Double-D" Doney will box Dawn "DaBomb" Freeman.

Admission for tonight's event is $10 general admission and $15 ringside.

The show gets under way at 7:30 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m.

There will be a full bar available and a post fight party at the Gallery Lounge with thanks going to sponsors Budweiser and Townhouse Inns.
