The Montana State University-Northern men's basketball team has signed its third recruit for the 2003-2004 season.
Cory Cromwell, a 6-5 forward from Victor, has signed an NAIA national letter of intent to play for head coach Shawn Huse next season.
Cromwell, an all-conference and all-state selection for the Pirates, led the District 13C in scoring at 22.5 points per game while hauling down 11 rebounds and added three blocks per game. He also earned all-star honors at the Billings Sheraton Classic and all-Valley all-star the past three years.
"Cory is an exceptional athlete with an excellent frame," Huse said. "Cory has a great deal of potential. I am excited to work with him on the basketball floor."
Besides basketball, Cromwell is an outstanding all-around athlete. He earned second-team all-conference honors as quarterback for the Pirate football team and competed in the Class C state track meet in his sophomore and junior seasons in various events including discus, high jump, hurdles and shot put.
"Most importantly for us, Cory is another student-athlete with the great type of attitude, character and personality that we are looking for to contribute to our program," Huse said.
Cromwell joins Trenton Harbaugh of Miles Community College and Cody Gillespie of Great Falls High in next year's Lights' recruiting class.
