Becky Lynn Buerkle, 32, died from cancer in Havre on Tuesday, May 13, 2003, while surrounded by those who loved her.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Highland Cemetery. All of her family and friends are invited to attend. A fellowship will follow at the Vets Club.
Becky was born in Great Falls on Aug. 8, 1970, to Helen (Adams) and Bernie Sterner. She attended schools in Cascade, Rudyard and Havre. Her daughter, Mandy Fialkosky, was born Nov. 12, 1985. She married Bill Buerkle in Havre on April 16, 1993.
Becky gave 110 percent to the many jobs she worked in Havre, including McDonalds, Cantons, Stockman Bar, Havre Daily Lounge, Oxford, Corner Bar, IGA Greenhouse, McLean's Grocery, Ameri-Gas and Ezzie's.
Becky loved being home and spending time with Bill and Mandy as well as making feasts for family gatherings. They recently completed a beautiful addition onto their home. She cherished times with her nieces and nephews. It was the highlight of her day to entertain and spoil them whenever she got the chance and most kids just called her "Aunt Becky." She loved cooking Italian food and she was known for her angel food cake and potato soup. She loved taking pictures - that way she wasn't in them.
Becky loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, photography, birds, ducks, chickens, horses and all animals except spiders. Her photography also included proms, graduations, weddings and flowers. She had a green thumb and a knack for raising large pumpkins. Becky enjoyed board games, cards and poker.
She was very crafty and artistic, particularly at painting faces on the kids at Halloween and making little gifts for all her friends. She would add a personal touch to her cake decorating skills.
Becky enjoyed going to rummage sales and liked shots, red beers, Cherry Pucker, Ezra Brooks and Maui. Her main concerns the last year were the welfare and continued happiness of Bill and Mandy and Mandy's continued education.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Bernie Sterner.
Becky is survived by her husband, Bill of Havre; daughter, Mandy of Havre; friend Shane Barrett of Havre; sisters, Yvette (Gary) LaValley of Havre, Kathy (Larry) Olson of Havre; brothers, Dale (Linda) of Havre; Blaine (Chelise) of Gildford; and Bret Sterner and Blake Sterner of Havre; sisters-in-law, Pam (Rick) Sheppard of Havre, Kathy (Jim) Brough of Havre, Betty (Joe) Claude of Columbia Falls; brother-in-law, Mitch Buerkle (Rusti Warner) of Columbia Falls; mom, MaryAnn Buerkle of Havre; "grandpa" Dave LaValley; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many special camping, partying buddies, and "regulars" from all her jobs.
