Delores A. Dolph 76, of Havre died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at home with her family and friends.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Jude Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert D. Grosch officiating. Burial will follow at the
Highland Cemetery. A fellowship luncheon will be held at the Vets Club immediately after the service at the graveside.
Delores Alberta Gross was born on on Aug. 17, 1927, to Hugh Carroll and Olga (Swenson) Gross at her grandparents' home in Fairview, N.D. Delores attended school in Fairview and then went on to Notre Dame Academy in Willow City, N.D., where she graduated in 1945. After graduation, she worked as a telephone operator for several years in both Bottineau and Williston, N.D., and later in Havre.
Delores was united in marriage to Elbert Winston Dolph on Oct. 31, 1958, in Havre. Delores and Elbert lived and farmed south of Hingham for the next 40 years. Delores was stricken with Parkinson's disease several years ago. When her health failed, she and Elbert moved to their home in Havre. With the devoted care of her husband and caregivers Jean, Ron, Chelise, Deann, Charlotte and Gloria, Delores was able to remain comfortably at home until the time of her death.
Delores enjoyed playing the piano, reading, growing and reaping the products of her beautiful garden. She also loved cooking and many people enjoyed wonderful homemade meals at their home. Delores was a kind and caring person and was especially devoted to her mother during the last years of Olga's life. The light of Delores' life were her puppy dogs, Sandy, Snuffy and Chiquita.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Doris Gross; and brother, Loran Gross.
Survivors include her husband, Elbert Dolph of Havre; sisters, Evelyn Potter of Worden and Frances Lewison of Havre; brothers, Bob Gross and Ron (Gloria) Gross, all of Fairview; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Memorials in Delores' honor may be made to a memorial of one's choice.
