It's all over but the bragging at Beaver Creek Golf Course. Another summer of golf league action wrapped up on Wednesday night at BCGC as the Havre men's golf league concluded their 2004 playoffs.
The team sponsored by Michelob Light held off U.S. Bank on championship night at BCGC 19.5 points to 16.5 points to capture the 2004 Men's League championship.
Playing for Michelob Light was Tom Baker III, Jim Kato, Rick Reynolds, Jim Heberly and Dick Scharfe. Second-place U.S. Bank was composed of Greg Drummer, Kerry Ward, Eric Ward, Irish Ireland, Steve Hedstrom, Jerry Kuhn and Mark Hedstrom.
Michelob Light had a relatively easy road to the finals. They defeated Serv Ur Self Furniture and Mariani Insurance in the first two rounds, scoring 23 points in each match. On Tuesday, Michelob Light knocked off Clausen & Sons 19.5 points to 16.5 points to advance to the final match.
U.S. Bank defeated Hi-Way Bar and Schubert/Anderson in the first week of the playoffs. Then on Tuesday night they upset top-seeded Stockman Bank to reach the championship match.
Ladies league also concluded their season recently. D.A. Davidson captured the 2004 ladies league championship defeating Independence Bank for the title. The team sponsored by 15 West finished in third place and Anderson/Schubert Agency finished fourth.
