Hi Line Lanes closed on Saturday for Fesitval Days

"Can these really be the good ol' bowling days we'll miss in 2010?"

The first week of league had a couple of glitches, but that's what makes it all the more fun. If everything went smoothly, there would no fun and we would have nothing to talk about the rest of the week.

Hi Line Lanes will close the Saturday of Festival Days so that everyone can enjoy the parade and the demolition derby with their family. We will open again Sunday for normal business hours.

Golden Triangle Mental Health Center will begin bowling Friday afternoon at 1 pm. The Seniors started bowling Monday and will bowl every Monday afternoon at 1 pm.

We aren't sure who is running it but it has already been noted that Wanda Osterberg is missed greatly by the bowlers and the staff of Hi Line Lanes. Blessed be her memory.

YABA sign-up is October 10 from 2-4 pm at the lanes. If you cannot make it, please call Gary at the lanes to get your kids signed up.

Jackpot bowling will start on Sept. 25 at 8:01 pm. Get your group together and have a ball with Jackpot Gary and the crew.

Linda Warneke will gain one Friday and Nancy Morrell will celebrate her b-day the 19th.

Diane Hamilton picked the 5-6-10; Marcia Durward a 5-7; Pegi Browning the 6-7; and Tony Malsam a 4-7-10.

Delonna Malone started the season off with a 207,545. Lana Herman had a 502; Peggy 524; Sylvia Hansen 515; Pegi Browning 539; and Cathy Brown a 534. Cody shot a 235,575; Roy Hamilton had a 225; and Tracy Job a 573.

Every year we go through this: names - first and last. I may think I know who you are but I will not guess. I will not add your series up, there are just too many. It only takes a minute for you to check your own.

Week high series will be posted on the board by lane 1 but only after all the leagues have begun. High scores will be posted above the set of alleys they are rolled on.

Unless an extremely high score is shot early, don't look for these for a couple of weeks. The honor roll boards are no more so you will have to keep track of your own highs. This was a very time consuming and expensive extra. I think as adults, we can do without this childish frivel.

In closing for the week, I too would like to say how much Wanda is missed by all of us on Thurs. AM. She was our little spark plug. She was so looking forward to the new season while just finishing the last - if only there could have been just one more.
