Bowling writer Chuck Pezzano has come up with the alphabet of bowling. Over the following weeks I'd like to share his daffynitions with you:
"Alley - A little street between buildings. Was once the thing you bowled on, but that's now a lane."
Festival Days has come and gone and that means Jackpot Bowling starts this Saturday night a 8:01 p.m. Call the lanes to make your reservations. The fun night will be held every Saturday throughout the season unless notified.
Rock N Bowl continues every Friday night with grade school and middle school students bowling from 7 to 9 and high school and college students from 9:30 to 11:30. This is an alcohol- and tobacco-free fun night at a cost of $5.
There will be a meeting for people interested in YABA, including parents, on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
Registration for YABA is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the lanes. If you are interested and unable to attend at this time, call Gary at 265-5885.
The leagues are in full swing now so your news will be picking up a little more each week.
There are a lot of new faces again this year and I'd like to say welcome aboard to the sport of bowling. To you old guys - be patient and encourage them on, no one ever starts off with a 180 average.
Trish Morelli will celebrate a b-day on Sunday.
Gen Austin picked a 5-10; Linda Gerhart a 6-7-10; Troy Azure 6-7; and this dismal starter of a new season a 4-5.
