"Cherry - A delicious fruit, but poison to any bowler. Also known by names of "chop" or "pick" and a number of others not suitable for a family magazine."
Jackpot bowling is held Saturday nights at 8. Reservations may be made by calling 265-5885. Rock & Bowl is held Friday nights. The drug and alcohol free night is for school age keglers.
As YABA moves into a new season it is not without "thanks" to an individual who gave of her time for many years.
Wendy Gerky has been a vital part of the organization, started the PeeWees and was a large part in the purchasing of the bumpers. Wendy has taken on a major role in 4-H, finding it necessary to cut back on her roles in YABA. I know she'll be there when we need her and wish her the best in her new position.
YABA registration will be held this Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the lanes. If you are unable to attend, call Chris Drew at 265-5317 or Gary at 265-5885. Leagues are scheduled to start the week of the 24th.
You know by now, the bowling organizations as we know them will officially dissolve Dec. 1, 2004. We will all belong to the USBC as of Jan. 1, 2005.
WIBC will be holding their convention from April 22 to the 24 at Tulsa, Okla. A "special" invitation has been sent for all of you to attend. Anyone wishing to attend should contact me as soon as possible so I can make your reservation. Tickets are $30 each.
If you haven't heard by now, Dewey Sloan has been through quite an ordeal. We all hope he is on his way to a complete recovery this time. There's another little Mariani. Shawn and Michelle are the proud parents of a 9-pound boy. One more to add to the "mini-Mariani reunion"!
