"Inside - opposite of outside. An angle you switch to because you heard a pro bowler mention it on television!"
Are you a user or abuser? Do you play by the rules? Bowling has rules, just like all other sports, which are set forth nationally to make leagues run more smoothly. One of these is the pre-bowl, post-bowl and is explained on pages 36 and 37 in the playing rules book.
We have never been "sticky" over these rules and have given great leeway to teams - but, maybe it is time to tighten up. We allow "four-man" teams to carry six or eight people on their rosters and still use roving subs. We have lowered the "legal lineup" and require only one to be on the roster, but some people are still abusing the system.
I am not now, and never have been, in favor of forfeits, especially when this affects teammates who are unwilling bystanders. Maybe this must be a necessary message to those who abuse the system.
