The weather might not have been good on the outside, but the basketball sure was on the inside.

The Montana State University-Northern women's basketball team didn't let rainy California weather dampen its spirits.

Instead, the Skylights turned the heat up on the basketball court, scoring their second win of their California road trip with a 70-67 win over Biola University.

Northern rolled to a 38-29 lead at halftime, behind 45 percent three-point shooting in the first half on 5-11 shooting.

Biola outscored the Skylights in the second half, 38-29, but Northern held onto the lead thanks to 9-15 shooting from the free-throw line.

Jessi Reome rebounded from an off shooting night, scoring a game-high 19 points, including four three-pointers.

Jaci Heny had a solid game for the Skylights, scoring 16 points, while Megan Valgardson added 11 points and 10 rebounds and Michele VanDyke chipped in with 11 points and seven rebounds.

With the win, the Skylights improved to 14-4 on the season. They return to action on Jan. 7 when they face University of Montana-Western to open the Frontier Conference season.
