July has turned to August and that means that golf action in men's and women's league is winding down as is the BCGC tournament season.
Last week at BCGC in men's league action on Tuesday night, Pizza Pro earned high team with 23.5 points. Pizza Pro is made up of Gary Stremcha, Russ Luke, Lyle Miller and Doug Ross. Trent Normandy fired a one-under-par 35 to take home low gross honors and Kent McCormick earned low net with a 30.5.
On Wednesday night, Mariani Insurance and Clausen & Sons shared high team with 25 points each. Mariani Insurance is composed of Greg Munson, Murray Hurlburt, Jerry Mellem and Steve Mariani. Clausen's is composed of Buzz Pizzini, Dan Holt, Tracy McLain and Steve McLain. Nick Obie shot a 1-under par 35 to earn low-gross honors and Bill Keller was low net with a 28.5.
There are only four weeks left in the regular season of men's league. Serv-Ur-Self and Boxcars were out on Tuesday night and Erickson-Baldwin Insurance has the bye tonight. Action also shifts back to 5:30 p.m. for the rest of the season.
On Thursday night, Patrick Construction earned high-team honors in Ladies League action. Patrick Construction is composed of Carolyn Patrick, Lisa Handley, Nancy Morell and Anna Toner. Lynn Hamilton earned low-gross honors with a 44 and Anna Toner was low net with a 27.5. The playoffs for women's league will begin on Thursday night.
This weekend also marks the second major of the year at BCGC. The course will host the annual Hospital Foundation Tournament. The prestigious tourney is an 18-hole four person scramble.
