ALICE BERTHELOTE obituary

POLSON - Alice Currie Berthelote, 90, of Polson died on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004, at St. Luke Extended Care Facility in Ronan.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Foster-Durgeloh Funeral Home in St. Ignatius. Burial of cremains will be held at Pleasant-view Cemetery.

Alice was born on Nov. 1, 1913, in Butte to Henry and Alice (Moore) Mueller. She attended Butte schools and graduated from Butte High School in 1932.

Alice married Jack Currie on Sept. 17, 1933, and became a rancher's wife, spending a great portion of her life in the Mission Valley. She was an avid gardener and was active in the Mission Foothills Club, 4-H, Willing Workers, Mission Valley Saddle Club, cancer drives and March of Dimes.

She was a member of the Eastern Star and an avid supporter of the Montana State University-Northern Lights football program and Polson High School sports programs.

Alice worked at Dubay's Ranch Market, Papenfuss Hardware, Gambles and St. Ignatius School Lunch program, all in St. Ignatius.

She was preceded in death by Jack in 1975.

In 1978, she married Ted Berthelote and moved to Polson. Alice and Ted spent their summers in Polson and their winters in Sun Lakes, Ariz. Ted died in 1986, and Alice continued to live in Polson.

Alice found great delight in her family and their children.

Alice was preceded in death by her son Jack "Bud" Currie in 1970.

Survivors include her son, Walt (Trudy) Currie of Great Falls; daughters, Mary Alice (Bruce) Thomas of Polson and Margaret (Mike) Corcoran of Polson; grandsons, Jack Currie III, Jeff Currie, Shawn and Shane Wegner, Isaiah and Kaden Thomas, Greg and Bryan Corcoran; granddaughters, Terri Durglo and Tracy Webster; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Cremation and arrangements are by Grogan Funeral Home & Crematory of Polson.
