Ann was born in Great Falls on Dec. 22, 1925, to Louis and Lola Margaris, who were hardworking, religious Greek immigrants. Ann grew up speaking Greek in her home and learned English in school. A diligent student at Great Falls High School, she was well-liked by her fellow classmates.
After graduating in 1943, she worked as an office manager at Northern School Supply in Great Falls for 15 years, making many lifelong friends.
Ann met Dennis Yarmey, a farmer from Scobey, when he attended a convention in Great Falls and delivered her family the traditional Easter lamb from their relatives in Scobey. Their courtship consisted of much letter writing and some brief visits. They were married in Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Great Falls on June 26, 1960.
Ann was an excellent mother and homemaker. She also handled the business aspects of their farm.
Ann cherished her family and friends. She was an extremely thoughtful, loving person who devoted her life to caring for her parents, husband and children. Her belief in the Greek Orthodox faith was her joy and solace throughout her life. In 1993, Ann traveled with two of her daughters to Greece to visit her parents' birthplaces and to meet many relatives. After her husband's death in 1995, she continued to live in Scobey for five more years. She then moved to Missoula to live with her daughter and son-in-law until her death.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Lola Margaris; husband, Dennis Yarmey; and sister-in-law, Rosemary Margaris.
