The days may be getting shorter and fall may be quickly approaching, but the golf action at Beaver Creek Golf Course is just getting interesting. Men's league wrapped up the regular season this past Wednesday night and annual playoffs are set to begin Tuesday evening.
On Tuesday night, Serv-UR-Self Furniture scored a full 28 points to earn high team honors and a spot in the playoffs. Serv-UR-Self is composed of Buzz Pizzini, Mike Evans, Cal Wirtzberger and Mike Peterson. Pizzini was also low gross for the night after firing an even-par 36 and Russ Earl earned low net with a 31.5.
The four teams that qualified for Tuesday's playoffs are Stockman Bank, Wagner Plumbing, Bing N Bob's and Serv-UR-Self Furniture. They join Hi-Way Bar, Shanty Bar, Anderson Schubert Agency and Driver's Choice from the first half.
On Wednesday night, Michelob Light was once again high team with 23.5 points. The team is composed of Jim Kato, Rick Reynolds, Tom Baker and Jim Heberly. Kevin Harada fired a 1-under-par 35 to take home low gross honors and Arlin Kaul was low net with a 27.5.
Second-half qualifiers from Wednesday night include Clausen & Sons, Valley Furniture, Master Sports and U.S. Bank. The first half of the season saw Michelob Light, Stone Child College, Mariani Insurance and D.A. Davidson advance to the playoffs.
The annual men's league playoffs will get under way on Tuesday night at 5:30 p.m. First round matchup have Stockman Bank taking on D.A. Davidson, Clausen & Sons versus Driver's Choice, Hi-Way Bar against U.S. Bank and Michelob Light against Serv-UR-Self Furniture. Wagner Plumbing will go against Mariani Insurance, Valley Furniture will battle Anderson Schubert Agency, Stone Child will take on Bing N Bob's and the Shanty Bar will play Master Sports. The quarterfinals will be on Wednesday night.
