The Havre High golf teams put together solid showings at the very tough Helena High Invitational on Monday and Tuesday in Helena.
The Pony boys finished fourth out of nine teams, featuring seven Class AA teams, along with Class A power Whitefish, which won the tourney.
Havre finished with a score of 641, 41 strokes behind the Bulldogs. Missoula Sentinel and Helena High finished second and third, respectively. The Ponies fired a team score of 322 on Tuesday at the Green River Country Club. It was slight drop from Monday, when Havre fired a 319 at Bill Roberts Golf Course to finish in third place on the day.
Senior Ben Erickson fired rounds of 75-77 to lead the Ponies with a two-day total of 152, finishing in a tie for fifth place overall. Sophomore Matt Hedstrom was the second highest Pony finisher, firing rounds of 79-80 to finish at 159.
On the girls side, the Ponies finished a respectable sixth out of eight teams with a score of 852. Whitefish made it a clean team sweep with the girls taking the title with a score of 722.
As a team Havre, fired a 430 on Tuesday at Green River and a 422 on Monday at Bill Roberts.
Individually, the Pony girls were led by sophomore Ali Ward, who finished with a 188. Ward fired rounds of 93 and 95 over the two days. Senior Brittany Job carded a a 95-104 for a two-day total of 199.
The Ponies return to action on Saturday when they host the Havre Invitational at the Beaver Creek Golf Course. The Havre JV team will host its own meet at BCGC on Thursday.
