A Havre woman is accused of shooting her estranged husband with a shotgun after asking him to get together to "make up" and save their marriage, a court document said.
Angelic Jennifer Frost, also known as Angelic Jennifer Leens, was charged Monday in state District Court with attempted deliberate homicide in the wounding of Dolph Frost.
The two are separated and in the process of getting a divorce, the document said.
Angelic Frost is being held in the Hill County Detention Center without bond. She faces up to life in prison if convicted.
Dolph Frost was listed this morning in stable condition by Northern Montana Hospital.
Hill County sheriff's deputies and an ambulance responded to a call from a residence in the 8700 block of First Street West at 10:25 p.m. Friday. The caller, later identified as Dolph Frost, said he had been shot, the document said.
The front door of the residence was locked, and the deputies found Angelic Frost, 30, sitting on a patio chair outside the home, the document said.
The deputies entered the residence through the back door, which was unlocked, and found Dolph Frost with a large shoulder wound, the document said. The deputies questioned Frost, then had him transported to the hospital.
Frost told the deputies that Angelic Frost had called and asked him to come to the residence because she "wanted to save their marriage," the court document said.
When he arrived, she had him take off his shirt so she could check him for "body wires," the document said. She told him to wait in a bedroom, then walked in and pointed a shotgun at him, the document alleged.
Dolph Frost ducked as Angelic Frost fired, and the shot caught him in the right shoulder "and tore his shoulder apart," according to the document.
He told deputies that Angelic Frost wiped the shotgun down and told him she would get away with the shooting because there were no fingerprints on the weapon, the document said. Then she made several telephone calls.
When he asked her to call an ambulance, she threw the phone at him and told him to call himself, the document said. She went out the front door and locked it, the document said.
The deputies found a Winchester 12-gauge shotgun with the safety off and four live shells in the shotgun, including one in the chamber, the document said. They found a spent shell on the floor a short distance from Dolph Frost's leg, the document said. Chief deputy Monte Reichelt said the shotgun was pumped after the first shell was fired, which ejected the spent shell, the document said.
