Despite not having a full squad, the Havre High swim team had a solid showing at the Kalispell Invitational this past weekend.
The Pony girls and boys team both placed third in their respective divisions, scoring 176 and 188 points.
Flathead High took the girls title with 287 points with Great Falls High finishing just ahead of Havre with 179 points. On the boys side, Missoula Hellgate took home top honors with 240 points. Flathead was second with 213 points.
For the girls, Havre took home the 200 medley relay title with a time of 2:11.86. Havre's B relay squad finished sixth in the same event. In other relays, Havre finished second in the 200. The Ponies also got multiple placings from Rachel Hansen with a second in the 50 freestyle and a fourth in the 50 butterfly and Morgan Zimmer with a fifth in the 50 butterfly and sixth in the 500 freestyle. Other individual placers in the top six were Jessica Obrecht with a second in the 50 breaststroke, a fourth from Kyra Kaercher in the 500 freestyle and a third from Mary-Beth Blankenship in the 50 backstroke.
On the boys side, Havre was powered by its relay squads, which placed third and fourth in the 200 medley relay, fifth in the 200 freestyle relay and sixth in the 400 freestyle relay.
Individually, Ryan Kinholt and Marcus Inman finished fourth and fifth in the 50 backstroke. Kevin Friede added a sixth in the 200 freestyle, while Jordan Croft also added a sixth in the 50 butterfly.
The Ponies will return to action in their only home meet of the season this Saturday at the MSU-Northern campus.
