The Chester Coyotes swept the District 10C track meet in dominant fashion on Saturday,
The Coyote boys scored a whopping 237 points, winning eight events and placing athletes in every event but one.
Senior Isaac VanDyke led the way for Chester with a record setting day. VanDyke set a meet record in the 1,600 with a time of 4:41.90 to break the old mark set by Heart Butte's J.R. Bremner in 1995. But he wasn't finished. He broke the meet record in the 3,200 with a time of 9:54.28. He added a second-place finish in the 800, finishing behind teammate Caleb Brown.
Chester also had good day from Zach Ramberg, who won the long jump and triple jump. Ramberg was also a part of the Coyote's winning relay squads. Casey Buffington picked up a title in the javelin.
The Chester girls were equally as good, scoring 209 points to easily win the meet. Dutton/Brady was second with 118 points.
Individually, Jillien Johnson led the way for Chester, winning the 800, 1,600 and 3,200 and finishing third in the pole vault. Chester's also got three wins from Brittney Kolstad. Kolstad broke the meet record in the 200, running a 27.14, breaking the old record by .02 seconds. She also broke the meet record in the 100 hurdles. Her time of 16.58 bested the mark set by Chester's Emily Tranberg in 2000. Kolstad also added a win in the 300 hurdles and was a part of Chester's 1,600 relay team. The Coyotes also got a pair of wins from Brianne Wolfe in the 400 and long jump.
Chester will now prepare for this week's Northern C Divisional track meet.
