Hi-Line residents served by the Hill County Water District will be without water Wednesday, district manager Kim Bunton said today. Water to Gildford, Hingham, Kremlin, Rudyard and Inverness is scheduled to be shut off from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., he said.

The district plans maintenance on a water pressure reducer, two valves and a meter in Gildford, he said.

Bunton said he regrets having to shut off residents' water on a hot day. The National Weather Service has projected a high of 85 to 90 degrees for Wednesday.

The timing is unfortunate, Bunton said, but can't be helped since the repair has been scheduled for some time.

"If the water comes on before (10 p.m.), then that's good," and people should go ahead and use it, Bunton said. The repairs could take anywhere from five hours to the whole day, he said.

The pressure reducer in Gildford is 45 years old and the other repairs are routine, he said.

"Things are worn out," he said. "It's just time to replace them."
