Thanks to the dominant pitching of Todd Roe, Wells Fargo picked up a 4-1 win over Northern Montana Hospital in the Babe Ruth city championship game on Sunday at Legion Field.
Roe outlasted Jeremy Jensen in a pitcher's duel, striking out 15 batters in seven innings of work. He also had a run-scoring hit.
Teammates Michael Hickman, Nick Nault and Seth Handy also delivered big hits to help Wells Fargo take a 3-0 lead.
Wells Fargo finished second in the regular season with an 8-3 record.
Other members of the championship team include: Cam Schilling, Jack Teske, Mason Sheppard, C.J. Evans, Roman Surber, Will DeVries, Nick Chagnon, Jeffrey Thibideaux, Nick Sunchild and James Anderson.
The team was coached by Dana Roe, Don "Lunar" Evans and Dave Sheppard.
Optimist Club captured the regular season title with a 12-2 record.
Optimist Club was upset in the semifinals of the tournament by Northern Montana Hospital.
Members of Optimist Club were Taylor Ita, Andrew Lindquist, Josh Haas, Ryan Welch, Brett Normandy, Jake Lilletvedt, Curtis Shandorf, Kyle Miller, Kent Pattison, Tim Gilge, Bill Durbin, Clayton McDaniel, Garrett Kane and Ben Potter.
They were coached by Bruce Normandy, Lyle Miller and Scott Pattison.
