”Some people bowl because they like feeling frustrated, bitter and unhappy, and bowling allows them to feel a little of each.“

YABA is officially not. Effective Oct. 1, YABA became Havre USBC Youth. I am quite sure we will continue to say YABA but the local organization has been chartered with USBC.

Sign-up for Havre Youth will be held Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hi-Line Lanes. All registration fees must be paid at the time of sign-up. If you are unable to register at that time, it may be done by calling Chris at 265-5317 or the first time you bowl league. Further info, if not already there, should be on its way to your homes.

Women's City begins Tuesday night with a team event. Team, doubles and singles will also be bowled over the weekend of Oct. 22-23. Fliers are posted at the lanes with shift times. The cost is $15 per person per event, with a $2 optional for all events. Last season's average will be used or, if you don't have one, a current nine-game average will be used. If you have any questions or schedule conflicts, call me ASAP.

The Seniors will begin bowling this Monday. They usually start at 1 p.m. and everyone is welcome. Call the lanes at 265-5885 for more info.

A Budweiser No-Tap is scheduled for Nov. 5-6 and Nov. 11-12. The tourney will be an eight-pin no-tap with shifts on Saturdays at 2:30, 4 and 5:30 p.m. and Sundays at 12:30 and 2 p.m.

Jennifer Fanning has a b-day Thursday. Dianne Watson, Kandi Burrington, Lacy Anderson, Angie Vandenbos and Evie Jordan all gain one the 18th. To my other half: Happy anniversary the 17th and thanks for being here during this difficult time.

Gen Austin and Barb Miller picked 5-10s, Bret Preeshl a 6-7-10, and Rachel G. a 5-7.

Irene Wagner threw the high game of 227 and Marla Boyce's 540 was the high series. Marla had a 209, Trish Keeler 212, Terry Wright 525, and Corinne DeVries a 519.

Shawn Mariani started the season with a 258 and a 615. The biggest news, though, was reported to me by the bowler who did it. Bill Henry had a 731. Of course I checked and when I did, I decided it was something he dreamed about or he was unable to bowl two more games to make it reality. Bill did have a 153, 187, 191 - someone please help him with his addition. Got you, Henry.

Skip Owens had a 231; Ken Riska 227; Lorin Teske 226, 567; John Clark 574; Randy L. 577; and Dave Hamilton a 571. The high four-game of 820 was also by Shawn Mariani. Ken Riska had a 782, Ed Boucher a 764, and Dusty Kinsella a 778.

It is the beginning of the season - a lot of old faces, a lot of new faces. First names and initials do not work for me and I will very seldom try to guess who you are. If you do not care about your last name or your unadded score, that is fine with me. Just don't blame me if you aren't here or your entire name is missing.

With that, I'm happy I get to write about your scores. I'm like Bill Henry. I need two more games to make it here.

Women's 200s, 500s: Trish Keeler 212; Barb DeRosa 500; Marla Boyce 209, 540; Irene Wagner 227; Lynette Harada 200; Tammy Omlie 501; Terry Wright 525; Corinne DeVries 519.

Men's 225s, 560s, 750s: Shawn Mariani 258, 615, 820; Ken Riska 227, 782; Skip Owens 231; Lorin Teske 226, 567; Ed Boucher 764; Dusty Kinsella 778; John Clark 574; Randy L. 577; Dave Hamilton 571.
