Havre residents tonight will have a chance to hear what the candidates running opposed for two City Council seats and the mayor's office in the Nov. 8 general election have to say about issues affecting the city.
A candidate's forum, co-sponsored by the Havre Daily News and New Media Broadcasters, is set for 7:30 p.m. in the Holiday Village Shopping Center Community Room.
The panel will include Republican incumbent Mayor Bob Rice and his Democratic challenger, Havre City Council member Pam Hillery; Democratic Ward 4 City Council member Allen “Woody” Woodwick and Republican challenger Shane Ford; and Republican Bob Kaftan and Democrat Bob Kaul, who are running for the Ward 3 seat held by Tom Farnham, who did not seek re-election.
Each candidate will have three minutes to make an opening statement. They will then answer questions submitted by Havre residents and the staff of the newspaper and radio station. The candidates will be given three minutes for a closing statement.
Residents are invited to attend the forum. It will be broadcast live on 610 KOJM-AM.
