ALBERT ROBERTS obituary

Albert "Bert" F. Roberts, 66, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, in Kennewick, Wash., due to cancer.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Fifth Avenue Christian Church with burial following in Highland Cemetery.

Bert was born April 24, 1938, to

Albert H. "Bill" and Myrtle (Henderson) Roberts in Havre. He was raised in Havre and was active with the Havre Boxing Club for a number of years. Bert fought in the National Golden Gloves Tournament in Chicago in 1957.

Bert married Lila Wood in Havre on November 15, 1958. He worked for Herschel Fox, Baltrusch Construction before starting his own business Havre Homes and Roberts Construction. He moved to Kennewick, Wash., in 1978.

Bert enjoyed raising fish, spending time with his kids, grandkids, and two great-granddaughters.

Survivors include his mother, Myrtle Roberts of Havre; wife, Lila Roberts of Kennewick, Wash.; daughters, Sue (Paul) Ochsner of Great Falls and Bobbie (Mike) Doty of Billings; son, Charlie (Dawn) Roberts of Kennewick, Wash.; sisters, Jeannie Whitaker of Columbia Falls, Sheila Pooler of Ferndale, Idaho, and Connie Hofer of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; brothers, Eddie Roberts of Boise, Idaho, Gary Roberts of Rathdrum, Idaho, and Kenny Roberts of Oakley, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Bert was preceded in death by his son, Billy; daughter, Janet Sani in 1997; sister, Billy K. Jones; granddaughter, Taylor Jo Doty; and his father Bill Roberts.

Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
