The date was different, but the results were the same.

For the second time this season, the Chinook Sugarbeeter tennis team edged the Havre High JV in dual action at the Havre High tennis courts on Tuesday afternoon.

Chinook split with the Ponies in the 14 singles matches, winning seven. However, the Beeters secure the win in the doubles, winning four of seven matches.

In the singles, Monica Thackeray had a solid day, winning two singles matches. Thackeray knocked off Havre's No. 3 varsity player Karissa Olson in dominant fashion, 6-0.

Thackeray followed that up with a solid 6-4 win over HHS No. 4 varsity player, freshman Katie Mariani.

Chinook also got a solid performance from Gen Burkhartsmeyer, who finished 2-1 on the day. Burkhartsmeyer defeated Molly Proctor 6-0 and Olson 6-1. Her only loss was a 6-1 defeat at the hands of Mariani.

Chinook also got wins in the singles from Merylee Ramberg, who defeated Angie Maxwell 6-2, Rebecca Blankenship, who knocked off Christen Kittelson 6-4 and Morgan Obie, who beat Hailey McLain 6-2.

Havre got two wins from Mariani in the singles, along with two wins from Molly Proctor. Kittelson and McLain finished 1-1 in the doubles, while Angie Maxwell picked up a tough 6-5 win over Marinda Qualls.

In the doubles, Chinook got a balanced effort as four different teams won matches. The team of Obie and Georgia Barber defeated McLain and Alexa Lipp in a close 6-5 match.

Chinook's other wins from Staci Butcher and Abby Johnson, who defeated Lipp and Jocelyn Chagnon, 6-5, Patricia Harshman and Patricia Hellman and Qualls and Amanda Oehmke.
