JUNE MCCREA obituary

MISSOULA - June I. McCrea, 85, of Missoula and formerly of Big Sandy, died Friday, June 3, 2005, at her home in Missoula of natural causes surrounded by her family.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the O'Connor Memorial Chapel of Great Falls. Cremation has taken place.

June was born March 22, 1920, to Julie and Otto Benson in Plaza, N.D. She grew up and attended schools in North Dakota. She moved to Great Falls when she was 18. She graduated from Great Falls Cosmetology School and went to manage her aunt's beauty shop in Big Sandy.

She married Ted McCrea in 1941 in Great Falls.

June was employed with Our Lady of Lourdes Parish and the old Columbus Hospital dietary departments until her retirement.

She was a member of the craft class at Columbus Hospital in Great Falls and participated in the farmers market and church bazaars for many years in Great Falls and Missoula.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted, in 1999.

Survivors include her daughters, Bernadette McCrea of Seattle, Colleen (Bob) Surmi of Missoula and Mary (Monty Cawker) McCrea of Missoula; sons, John (Merrylee) McCrea of Helena, Kelly McCrea of Seattle and Dennis (Jodi) McCrea of Missoula; sister, Lavonne Gale of Minot, N.D.; and six grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army, 4713 Graham St., Missoula, MT 59808, or Christ the King Church, 1400 Gerald Ave., Missoula, MT 59801.
