Former Havre resident Hugh E. Nugent died Sept. 22, 2005, in a St. Paul, Minn., hospital after a long illness.
Cremation has taken place at the Cremation Society of Minnesota. No services are planned at this time.
Hugh was born Aug. 29, 1932, in Anaconda. He graduated from Anaconda Central High School and served in the U.S. Air Force after graduation.
In 1957 he married Hazel Fare in Wyoming. They divorced in 1982 after raising three children: Ellen of Shanghai, China, and Havre; Paul (Jody) of Havre; and Laura of Billings. He later married Heather Huber in Minnesota.
Hugh worked for the BA&P railroad in Anaconda, and then the Northern Pacific and Burlington Northern railroads in Livingston and Havre until he retired. He then worked various jobs to support his gardening.
