Two Havre High volleyball players earned Class A all-state honors after the Ponies' second-place finish at the 2005 Class A state tournament in Bozeman.
Senior setter Alexa Lipp and junior outstide hitter Lena Suek were named to the Class A all-state team for the 2005 season. Lipp finished the season as the assist leader in both the Central A and Class A this season.
Suek also had a breakout year for the Ponies, leading the Central A in kills. Both players also earned first-team all-conference honors, and both were named to the Class A state all-tournament first team.
HHS seniors Kelsey Evans and Keelie Solomon were also honored. Solomon was named second-team all-conference after a fine all-around season. Evans, who had a standout year from her defenseive specialist position, was named the Central A's defensive player of the year. She also earned second-team all-tournament honors at the state tournament. Sophomore Signe Hillson was named honorable mention all-conference from her middle-hitter position. Hillson also earned honorable mention all-tournament honors at the state tournament.
HHS head coach Bill Huebsch earned Central A coach of the year honors after guiding the Ponies to a 9-1 conference record and both the Central A regular season and divisional tournament championships.
