MISSOULA (AP) - A 23-year-old University of Montana student died Monday after apparently falling from a fire escape on a five-story building.
The Missoula County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Nicholas Sean Porter of Havre.
Missoula police were summoned to campus at 9 a.m. after a passer-by reported a young male lying on the concrete north of UM's Social Science Building. He was not breathing and appeared to have fallen off the building's fire escape.
Police Sgt. Geron Wade said the man was transported to St. Patrick Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Wade said there was no evidence of foul play but an investigation was continuing.
