It may seem like it has gone by fast for some teams and longer for others, but the 2005 regular season has ended for Class B and Class C teams across the Hi-Line.

The Rocky Boy Morning Stars captured the District 9C regular season title with a pair of dominant wins this past weekend.

Rocky Boy rolled past the KG KouGars 72-36 in Rocky Boy.

KG played the Stars tough in the first quarter trailing just 17-10. But Rocky Boy blew the game open in the second quarter, outscoring KG 20-3 to take the lead for good.

Loni Belcourt scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Stars. Frances Eagleman added 14 points while Tori Belcourt and Chelsea St. Pierre added 11 points each.

On Saturday night, the Stars wrapped up 17-1 season with a tough 66-56 win over the Blue Sky/J-I Eagles in Rudyard.

Rocky Boy led for much of the first half and took a 34-26 lead into the locker room at halftime. The Eagles rallied in third quarter, outscoring Rocky Boy 22-16 to cut the lead to 50-48. However, the Stars put the game away in the fourth quarter with a 16-8 run to get the win.

Frances Eagleman and Loni Belcourt scored 18 points each to lead the Stars. Tori Belcourt chipped in with 12 points.

Blue Sky/J-I got 22 points from Kaila Warren while Kile Patrick and Megan Warren added 11 points each.

The night before, the Eagles survived a scare from the Hays-Lodge Pole T-Birds in Hays. Blue Sky appeared to have the game in hand, jumping out to an 18-6 lead and extending it to 32-20 at halftime. However, Hays reeled off a 27-7 third quarter to roared back into the game and take a 47-39 lead.

Blue Sky/J-I rallied in the fourth quarter, outscoring the T-Birds 25-13 to get the win.

Kaila Warren pumped in a game-high 34 points to lead the Eagles. Kile Patrick added 13 points in the win. Blue Sky/J-I finished the year with a 14-4 record overall and 12-4 conference record, good enough for third place.

Hays was led by the duo of Colette Hawley and Sheena Shambo, who scored 24 and 23 points, respectively.

Things didn't get much better for the T-Birds on Saturday night as they were upset by the Box Elder Bears 61-43 in Hays.

The Bears jumped out to a 15-9 first quarter lead and never looked back, notching their fifth win of the season.

Elsewhere in District 9C, the Big Sandy Pioneers secured a second-place finish with a pair of wins.

Big Sandy squandered a three-point first-half lead and allowed KG to come back and tie the game at 48-48 at the end of regulation.

The Pioneers outscored KG 6-5 in the extra period to get the big win.

Naomi Williams and Shalayna Pearson scored 18 points each to lead Big Sandy.

KG was led by Tasha Dyrland's 21 points, while Jodi Norman chipped in with 19.

The Pioneers finished the season with a 13-3 conference record and a 14-4 overall record.

Turner finished tied for fourth with Hays-Lodge Pole with a 7-9 conference record. The T-Birds will get the higher seed in the 9C tournament because of a pair of regular season wins over the Tornadoes.

In District 10C, the Chester Coyotes wrapped up another regular season title with a pair of wins this past weekend.

Chester rolled past the Sunburst Refiners 67-48 on Friday night in Sunburst. The Coyotes broke the game open in the second quarter with a 21-5 run to put the game out of reach early.
