GREAT FALLS (AP) - Nick Broadhead scored 14 points and Gardiner wrapped up an unbeaten season with a 50-37 victory over Whitewater in the championship game of the state Class C boys basketball tournament.
Kory Rehmer added 12 points for Gardiner (27-0), which outscored Whitewater 19-11 in the fourth quarter to pull away.
Shade Stiles had 11 points on 2-of-16 shooting and seven rebounds for Whitewater (26-1), which made just under 30 percent of its shots from the field and had three players foul out.
Gardiner made 16-of-29 free throw attempts.
In the consolation game, Brock Hansen had 24 points and 14 rebounds to lead Geyser to a 75-54 victory over Plenty Coups.
Plenty Coups (26-2), which entered the tournament unbeaten before losing 84-81 in double overtime to Geyser in the first round, outscored the Wranglers 19-18 in the first quarter. But Geyser outscored Plenty Coups 25-11 in the second quarter and then 21-12 in the fourth.
Ryan Neumann added 19 points and five assists for Geyser, which was making its first-ever appearance at the state Class C tournament.
Wes Spotted Bear led Plenty Coups with 19 points while Kevin Monroy finished with 10.
In the loser-out games, Hansen had 33 points and Neumann 15 in Geyser's 87-72 win over Drummond (21-8), while Spotted Bear had 24 and Monroy had 19 in Plenty Coups' 101-64 win over Rocky Boy.
