The 2005 Frontier Conference volleyball post-season awards were announced recently and two Montana State University-Northern players were honored.
Senior Jasmine Mitchell was named a second-team outside hitter. Mitchell, who hails from Winnipeg, Manitoba, finished her finale season at MSU-N second in the conference in hitting percentage. She also finished seventh in blocks with 85 and eighth in the league in kills with 259.
Fellow senior Jordan Fox from Alpine, Utah, had an outstanding all-around season from her outside-hitter position, as she earned honorable mention honors. Fox finished fifth in the league in kills with 277. She also was third in the league in aces (39) and sixth in digs (304).
The pair helped guide the Skylights to a fifth-place finish during the Frontier Conference regular season with a 6-8 record and 13-13 overall. Northern finished third at last weekend's conference tournament in Butte.
UM-Western middle-blocker Katherine Sunwall was named the league's most valuable player. Westminster College transfer Angie Johnson was honored as the newcomer of the year, and Montana Tech's Beka Hudson was named the libero of year.
