I'm still flying high from Friday the 13th - how about you? More later.

Shawn Mariani called the other day, Men's State entry blanks are here. Anyone needing one should contact him at 265-4718.

Speaking of Shawn, the weekend of Jan. 7 he traveled to Helena for the Miller Masters. He qualified with a 206 average, and out of a field of 107 bowlers he finished in ninth place. He still has it, maybe just not in Rudyard. Sorry, Shawn, I just couldn't resist.

Terry Grant had a very hot hand in Rudyard last week, scoring games of 225, 220, 222, 248, 227 and a series of 602 and 667. The biggest news was his 700. Terry threw games of 277, 246 and 208 for a super series of 731. Roger Shepherd had a 616 with a high game of 226. Jackie Mayer had the ladies' highs of 226 and 564.

Jack Jacobson picked a 5-7 and Jackie Mayer picked a 5-10.

The Rudyard women will be bowling their City Tourney on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Entry fees are: team, $40; doubles, $20; singles, $10; and all events, $1.

To those of you who do not know what all events is, I will try to explain. The fee is optional. Your first team event plus your first doubles and singles scores are added together, coming up with a total called “all events.” There are usually two categories, with two winners of the event. The first is the actual scores bowled, and the second is the actual scores plus the bowler's handicap. If I have left you confused, sorry, bowlers know. Ask one of them.
