Judge gives woman 20 years

State District Judge David Rice on Monday sentenced Angelic Jennifer Frost, 31, of Havre to 20 years with the state Department of Health and Human Services, a court document said.

Frost on Feb. 28 pleaded no contest to a felony charge of assault with a weapon, the document said. In an agreement with the Hill County Attorney's Office, a charge of attempted deliberate homicide was amended to the assault charge.

Frost, aka Angelic Jennifer Leens, is accused of shooting her estranged husband in the shoulder with a 12-gauge shotgun on Oct. 15, 2004, the document said.

According to the document, Angelic Frost called Dolph Frost and invited him over to the house in which she was staying in order to “make up.” She later pointed the Winchester Model 1200 pump-action firearm at his neck. He ducked, and the blast struck him in the right shoulder, the document said.

In his sentencing order, Rice said Frost suffers from alcoholism and a mental illness that compounds her addiction.
