A Great Falls woman left more than $1.2 million in her estate to several local foundations. Margaret Wynn, 92, died in August 2005. She donated approximately $890,000 to the Catholic Foundation, $190,000 to the Benefis Foundation and $190,000 to the Montana State University Foundation. Tom Cook, trustee for Wynn’s estate, said Wynn wanted to be able to help the things she loved most. “First and foremost, she was a devout Catholic, and second, she was a registered nurse for most of her life,” Cook said. Dennis W. Peterson, executive director of the Benefis Healthcare Foundation, said the donation will be used to set up a scholarship for students seeking a bachelor’s degree in nursing, in accordance with Wynn’s wishes. The scholarships will be worth up to $2,500 each, depending on students’ needs, Peterson said. Wynn also made $80,000 worth of posthumous donations to several Great Falls organizations, giving $5,000 to each, Cook said.
