The Montana high school basketball season is in the books and with that comes plenty of postseason accolades for both boys and girls across the Hi-Line.
The District 9C boys All-Conference team was headed by three players from regular-season champion North Star and regular-season runner-up Box Elder.
The Knights got senior Cody Donoven and juniors Branden Melby and Darius Wendland on the list, and Box Elder's Aaron Henry, Steven Arca and Dustin Bacon were also tabbed.
Donoven and Melby also earned Northern C All-State honors as did Henry. Hays-Lodge Pole junior Lance Brockie earned All-Conference and All-State honors for a third straight year.
Rounding out the 9C boys list were Chad Jones and Dalton Cornell of Turner, Chad Beck and Marty Birky of Chinook, Cody McCabe of Hays-Lodge Pole, Justin Willis of Big Sandy and Ivan Whitford of Rocky Boy.
And North Star head coach Charlie Robinson earned yet another coach of the year award.
On the girls side, the 9C list was led by league front-runner Big Sandy and Rocky Boy. The Morning Stars, who finished second at the District 9C tournament led the way with three selections. The Pioneers, who recently finished third at the Class C state tournament in Hamilton, also had three players named to the All-Conference team.
The Pioneers were represented by seniors Kacy Herron and Naomi Williams and junior Shalayna Pearson. Herron and Williams were also named to the Northern C All-State team as well as the Class C state all-tournament team.
Senior Shaneen Raining Bird and juniors Tori Belcourt and Loni Belcourt were the Morning Stars named to the 9C All-Conference team. Tori Belcourt was also an All-State selection for a second consecutive year.
Rounding out the 9C list were sophomore Tasha Dyrland and senior Jodi Norman of North Star. Dyrland was also the fourth 9C player to earn All-State honors. Turner got seniors Ashley Van Voast and Cheryl Cowan named to the All-Conference team along with Chinook's Kassie Dugan and Crystal Roseberry. Hays-Lodge Pole's Suzi Kirkaldie and Box Elder's Rokki Parker were also named to the team.
Rocky Boy head coach Deb LaMere was named the 9C's coach of the year.
The Class C state runner-up Chester/J-I Hawks were also well-represented on the Northern C All-State team. Seniors Mary DeVries and Keyla Briese were both named to the team for a second straight year. Both players were also named to the Class C state all-tournament team.
