HannaH (Witt) Vukasin, 90, a former longtime Great Falls resident, died of heart failure at Northern Montana Hospital on Saturday, March 18, 2006.
Crema-tion has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel in Great Falls at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Hannah was born June 25, 1915, in Pittsburg, Pa., to Julius and Anna Witt. When Hannah was a child, her family settled in Montana. Hannah met Mark Vukasin, her husband and lifetime companion of 62 years, and they were married July 29, 1935, in Black Eagle and made Great Falls their home.
Hannah was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family. After her children were grown, she entered the work force as a waitress. She worked at several restaurants, retiring from Paris of Montana (the Bon) after 20 years of service.
Hannah enjoyed many things that life had to offer. Some of her favorites included bingo, playing card games with family and friends, cooking, sewing, embroidering and going to the daily coffee club at the Atrium in Havre. Hannah had a special gift for growing roses, receiving many compliments on them. The highlight of her life was the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death be her husband, Mark; daughter, Shirley Burckhard; brother, Fritz Gettel; and grandson, Mark Vukasin.
Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy (Jon) Kingston of Great Falls; sons, Al Vukasin of Great Falls and Bob (Ruth) Vukasin of Havre; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
