Local history on display

The Havre-Hill County Historic Preservation Commission commemorates the county's past this month in honor of National Historical Preservation Month.

The commission created photo displays they hope will bring back memories for residents. The group has provided notebooks for citizens to record those memories.

“We hope that people will look at the pictures and write down their memories of that place,” Rhines said Thursday. “We made notebooks for each individual picture.”

After the community shares their memories, she said, the commission will archive the notebooks and the photos.

The library will host the photo show beginning today through May 12. From May 15 to May 31, the show will be at the North Central Senior Citizens Center.

A condensed form of the show will be at Havre City Hall starting today. On May 15, that display will move to the Hill County Commission's office, Rhines added.
