Marjorie was born May 27, 1947, at Fort Belknap, to Glen and Leona (Longtree) Messerly Jr. She was raised at Lodge Pole and attended school at Lodge Pole and Flandreau. She also attended college at Great Falls and Fort Belknap. On Aug. 5, 1965, she married Jesse Snell Sr., whom she spent and shared 41 years with. She loved Jesse dearly and he was by her side. Through the whole time of her health condition, Jesse never left her side once, and was with her to the end. Marjorie was a hard worker. She worked for the Fort Belknap Headstart program, Housing, Lodge Pole Senior Citizens as a cook and community health representative. She loved her CHR job, as she was willing to help people. She did not end her day until everyone was taken care of. Due to Marjorie’s health, she had to move part-time to Havre.
She always wanted to move back to her home in Lodge Pole, because she loved the outdoors and had horses Rowdy and Doc that she loved a lot. She loved rodeos. She had two sons who used to participate in rodeos. Marjorie loved reading, playing her guitar, singing and going to church when she felt well enough to go. She loved taking her grandchildren fishing, to the mountains while Jesse got wood, and riding around. For the last seven or eight years, Marjorie raised three special grandchildren she considered as her own children. Marjorie had a big heart and was always willing to help and care for people, no matter who it was. Her door was always open to anyone. She would give what she had to try and help anyone in need.
