Scorching heat. That is what golfers along the Hi-Line are facing these days. Last week in league action, golfers endured blistering heat with temperatures remaining well into the 90s even as darkness fell over Beaver Creek Golf Course and the Chinook Golf Club. Despite the blistering heat, good scores were the order of the day in league action at both BCGC and Chinook. On Tuesday night in men’s league in Havre, Farnik Bins Sales earned high-team honors with 24 points. Farnik is composed of Brett Gilman, Rod Spicher, Mike Farnik and Pat Foster. Gilman and Tom Adams had the hot hand on Tuesday night, each firing 1-under-par rounds of 35 to share low gross. Greg Baltrusch was low net with a 27. On Wednesday night, Klabzuba was high team with 22 points. Klabzuba is composed of Dave Herman, Jerry Schubert, Eric Fee and Tom Adams. Doug Sheppard earned low-gross honors after carding and even-par 36, and Brett Patrick was low net with a 30. Wednesday night in Chinook saw Rob Reid earn the most points in men’s league action. Brent Schellin captured the long drive prize and Bill Burkhartsmeyer was long putt. Craig Guenther also earned closest to the pin. In ladies league at BCGC on Thursday night, Anderson/Schubert and D.A. Davidson shared high-team honors with 20.5 points. Anderson/Schubert is composed of Susie LaSalle, Stacy Ellery, MaryAnn McLean and Cindy Schubert. D.A. Davidson is composed of Dorothy Dugdale, Susie Pearson, Shari Baltrusch and Kathy Moran. Carrie Kato was low gross with a 43 and Patti Nault earned low-net honors with a 32.
