A prodigal son has returned to the Hi- Line from the big cities and is intent on passing on the knowledge of dance he has acquired over years of work and study. Patrick Campbell is originally from Chinook, but in the past two decades he has been working as a professional dancer in groups such as the Metropolitan Repertoirial Ballet in New York City, and as a jazz dancer at the Friars Club in Washington, D.C. He has also worked and studied at the University of Utah, and is pursuing a master’s degree at the University of Montana. While in Missoula he worked as an instructor with the renowned Missoula Children’s Theater. He is also a Country- Western musician. Campbell will be working as an instructor with North Star Dance Studio here in Havre for owner and instructor Dani (Danielle) Alex. “I enjoy working with Danielle, she knows the importance of technique,” Patrick said. “She is kind, respectful, regal and is concerned about her dancers on a personal level. Her students are very fortunate to have her as a teacher.” The studio caters to students from three to 17 years old and teaches ballet, jazz and hip hop styles of dance. “We put on a lot of shows for the community, and are going to be very busy through the Christmas season,” mother and volunteer Vukasin said. “We will be at the Senior Center on Friday."
