A fatal shooting in Hays on Saturday left one man dead and his daughter in custody, an FBI official said this morning.

Neil Gray, 43, was shot to death in his residence in Hays on the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation, FBI spokesman Patrick Kiernan said today in an interview from Salt Lake City. Gray's daughter, Ashley Lynn Gray, 21, of Hays is being held in connection with the crime, Kiernan said. According to the Hill County Sheriff's Office, Gray is being held in county jail on charges of disorderly conduct and obstructing a peace officer.

“I anticipate additional or different charges will be filed” against Gray, Kiernan said.

The spokesman said he could not release any additional details regarding the incident.
