CHARLES BESTON obituary

ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Charles “Chuck” Donald Beston, 69, died on Monday, March 17, 2006, after a battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the American Legion Hall at 1101 Craig Ave. in Ellensburg, Wash.

Chuck was born June 10, 1936, in Belcourt, N.D., and grew up in Harlem and Havre, the oldest of 10 children.

He served as an Army cook during the Korean War. He maintained his love for cooking throughout his life and enjoyed the pleasure of sharing his talent with others. Although he enjoyed cooking, he was a driver at heart and retired from long-haul trucking.

Upon retirement, he discovered his true passions of fishing and going to the casino. He settled in Ellensburg and happily lived there for almost 30 years His sense of humor, with his teasing remarks, along with his sense of honor and loyalty, had a positive impact on many lives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete Beston and Kathryn Turcotte; stepfather, Cecil Bennett; brother, Paul; and sister, Charlene.

Survivors include his children, Donald, Cheryl, Charles, Cathie, Torrie, Brian and Candace; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews; brothers, John Beston and William Turcotte; and sisters, JoAnne Rose, Gladys Gilmore, Florence Turcotte, Margaret Heagy and Cecelia Hofland.
