The remains of a Lewistown man reported missing in July 2005 were found by sportsmen last weekend and Fergus County officials have begun a homicide investigation. Joshua Haight, a student at Montana Tech, was 20 when his family reported him missing. A friend said he dropped him off in Lewistown on the afternoon of July 13, 2005. “It’s like he dropped off the face of the Earth ... right in the middle of his little town,” his mother, Stella Wichman, said at the time. Haight’s remains were found Saturday in northeastern Fergus County and identified by the state medical examiner in Billings. Sheriff Thomas Killham is asking for any information that could help in solving the crime. At the time of Haight’s disappearance, Lewistown Police Capt. Dave Sanders said they had “a person of interest.”
