Bowling is underway at Hi-Line Lanes

Marlene Pizzini For the Havre Daily News pixie@mtintouch.net

“It is always a temptation to kick the rack after a bad shot. You may want to remember, though, that there are more than 50 small, tender bones in the human foot.” The start of Rock-N-Bowl and Jackpot has been moved to next weekend due to Festival Days. Rock-NBowl will start Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. Bowling will run until 10 p.m. at a cost of $5 for all ages. Jackpot will open up Sept. 22. The fun night starts at 8 p.m. and costs $17 per bowler. All of the leagues have begun their season with Wednesday City men starting tonight. All of the leagues are in need of bowlers and it is not too late to join. Mike Hamilton is the secretary for the Sunday Keglers, four-person mixed, and Monday Straightaway Mixed which is a three-person team. Mike can be reached at 265-1638 or 265-2626. I take care of the ladies on Tuesday night, four-women, and Thursday AM, three-women, and can be reached at 265- 4664. The men on Wednesday night are a five-man team and Shawn Mariani can be reached at 265-4718. Thursday Mixers are four-person teams and Lorna Bjerga can be contacted at 265-9655. If you need more information, contact the secretaries or call Hi-Line Lanes at 265-5885. I also would be glad to help anyway possible. We will be meeting tonight to set the dates for the Havre Youth. We will try to hold off the start as long as possible so we do not conflict with the soccer season. The leagues will be bowling on Sundays. The pro women will be back on tour for about five weeks. They start bowling on Sunday at 11 a.m. on ESPN. You might want to double check your local listings for the exact time. It’s never too late to wish someone happy birthdaday. Marcia Durward had hers on Sept. 5, Nancy Venable the 6th, and Lana Herman the 9th. Teresa Brown gains one Thursday and Linda Warneke on Monday. Karia Gerky picked a 5-7; Becky Blake a 5-10; and Jackie Mayer a 5-8-10. Michale Beck and Michele Denny started the year off with 200s. Denny had a 503 and Lana Herman a 533. Chris Pappas threw a 225 and a 605 and Allen Stiffarm a 224 and 605 on Thursday night. Kyle Fanning had a 585 and Kevin Tweeten and Dave Herman had a 562 and a 560, respectively. It is a new year with some new faces and names. As always, I need first and last names for this. I also need added scores. High scores will be posted above the lanes. I will be keeping track of these but I have been known to overlook some at times. If your score is missed, let me know as the desk help only posts what I give them. Also, do not expect to see them right away as it takes a few weeks for things to level off. Next week, you will see all of the league scores and I will be putting lower scores in if needed. Until then, have a great kegling week!
